Celebrate Success

If you’re anything like me, in the wake of COVID-19 and social distancing, I’ve been spending a bit more time on social media than usual. It’s a great way to stay connected to friends, relatives, and colleagues when we can’t see each other in person.

I have worked hard to be intentional with those I follow on social media – I like to fill my feed with inspirational accounts so I can try to be uplifted and stave off some of the negative effects of social media. One account I love to follow is Jon Gordon (@jongordon11 on Instagram if you’re curious).

I love all the things Jon posts, and recently he posted something that seems fitting for our current world situation:

Before you go to bed celebrate your success of the day. Identify one great thing about your day; one great conversation, accomplishment, thing that made you smile, or win that made you proud. Focus on your success and you’ll look forward to creating more success tomorrow!

I, for one, know that the experience with social distancing and working from home has thrown my normal routine out of whack, and it’s easy to feel frustrated or upset by all that is changing around us.

If we can shift our mindset to focus on the positives around us, it will make each day a little better!

So, what is your success of the day? Was it a great conversation with a friend, or maybe an exciting development on a project? Whatever it is – celebrate it!

Until next time…we are Advoco, make every minute count.
