5-Point EAM Post-Implementation Assessment
You are live...now what? To accomplish your goals with Infor EAM (Datastream 7i) and to make the most out of your current EAM implementation, Advoco will provide a comprehensive assessment covering 5 key points to identify the EAM operations:
- Processes - Ensure that the system is configured and being used optimally:
- Review how users are using the system day to day
- Look at the menus, screens, tabs, fields and statuses - check for unnecessary elements
- Examine any business rules and FlexSQL
- Data - Ensure the quality and integrity of the data within the EAM system:
- Look at population of critical data
- Check what data is critical and should be required within each module and process:
- Work: Labor; failure/closing codes; parts
- Assets: Criticality; classification; structure; numbering
- Parts/Purchasing: Standard descriptions; classified; supplier and manufacturer data
- Business Intelligence/Metrics - See whether the data in the EAM solution is providing key management information:
- Are metrics being used to drive effective change? Or are they being used and applied for the sake of meeting the metric?
- Work:
- Corrective vs Preventative maintenance
- Failure trending/analysis
- PM program compliance - Assets:
- Asset/Equipment availability
- Lifecycle costs assessment
- Are maintenance costs part of an asset replacement strategy/decision making? - Parts:
- Parts inventory values: current and trend
- What is the monthly parts usage vs the storeroom parts count/value?
- Part obsolescence metrics
- Percentage of parts on a min/max reorder
- Identifying and removing duplicate parts
- Performance - look at the system responses:
- Processes: Are there any repetitive processes or data that can be improved through business logic or screen changes?
- System: How is the system response time? How long do reports take to run?
- Integration - review existing and potential integration points:
- Examine the current integration point and mechanisms (DataBridge, WebService, Advanced Mobile)
- Look at potential integration and replicated data between EAM and other business systems (ERP, CRM, BMS etc)
Armed with the findings and insight from this exercise you will be ideally placed to leverage and extend the benefits that the EAM solution provides, allowing you to capitalize on your existing investments.
