Ken Jillson,
Co-founder and Partner
Ken Jillson co-founded Advoco Inc. in 2001 to meet the needs of national and international corporations for high level program management of business-critical software applications. He is directly responsible for managing all aspects of Advoco’s business operations, as well as Advoco’s professionals. His philosophy is grounded in extensive experience consulting on large-scale project implementations and turn-around management. Ken’s 10 years of specific technical consulting include overall system design and technical architecture development for a broad range of customers. His vision drives Advoco’s commitment to client success through services provided by highly qualified professionals who create solutions and train the client’s personnel from the position of first understanding the customer’s business environment.
Ken holds a BS degree from Santa Clara University, Santa Clara, CA in Computer Engineering and is a PMP professional. He is a Member of the Project Management Institute, focusing on Project Management Practices.
Steve Brindle
Co-founder and Partner
Steve heads Advoco’s technology practice, bringing exceptional consulting value to clients through a combination of project management capabilities, communication skills, technical expertise, and listening to and understanding client needs. His ability to work with clients in the way that they need is supported by 13 years of technical project and program management experience. Steve consults with clients to solve the challenges that arise with complex systems, change management, and infrastructure technology. He brings extensive experience with large business/government system implementations and integrations. His consultancy, program direction, and strategy development includes: management of multi-million dollar projects; requirements definition; system evaluation; turn-around management; ROI justification; and vendor negotiations for clients; and program design authority on large and complex system integration projects bringing together systems from multiple vendors within highly regulated environments.
Steve is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and a Member of the Project Management Institute. Awards include the Fulbright Travel Scholarship; University of California Regent’s Scholarship; and ATV College Scholarship. He is Adjunct Professor, Project Management, at San Francisco State University. Steve’s academic qualifications include a PhD in Mathematics from the University of California, San Diego, and a first class honors Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Oxford University, U.K.
Paul Cowley
Chairman
As chairman of Advoco, Paul Cowley focuses on driving the company’s vision: delivering programs on time, on budget, and to specification, with the added value that comes from understanding a client’s business operations from any angle. Advoco’s focus is on delivering value to clients across a wide range of technologies coupled with strong organizational and management skills. Paul’s leadership reinforces the strategic direction and quality of the services Advoco provides, driven by his extensive experience in management consultancy, technical consulting, and program management. He has held numerous executive roles during the past decade, including president and CEO of the IT project management company Networks Plus Limited (NPL) in the UK, which he founded and grew to include operations in Europe and the USA, and was sold to Unisys Corp in 2001. Paul also helps bring global perspective to Advoco, having led consulting services in Asia with key operational and general management roles for clients across the Asia-Pacific region.
Paul has a BA in Computer Studies and Physics from the UK’s Open University, and technical certification in telecommunications with British Telecom.
